Announcement: Appointment of Ian Langford as Chair of the UBH Board of Directors

We are delighted to announce that Brigadier (Retired) Ian Langford has been appointed as Chair of the UBH Board of Directors.


His appointment marks a significant milestone as we continue to expand and strengthen our position as a leading Sovereign Information Domain company.


Ian Langford brings with him a wealth of expertise as one of Australia’s foremost authorities in cyber, national security, business strategy and governance. With his strategic vision and deep understanding of the Information and Technology landscape, Langford’s guidance as Chair of the UBH Board of Directors will allow us to capitalise on the increasing demand for Information Services and Products.

The Information Domain encompasses a vast and diverse array of data generated and managed by government agencies, research institutions, and other entities within the country. As Australia intensifies its focus on digital sovereignty and cyber security, the market for services in this domain is experiencing rapid growth. Ian is well placed to assist UBH Group on this growth path.


Langford’s distinguished career in the Australian Army, culminating in his role as Head of Land Capability, underscores his exceptional leadership and dedication to national Defence. With three Distinguished Services Crosses to his name, along with a PhD in philosophy and notable educational achievements from institutions like Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and the Australian Institute of Company Directors, we are delighted that Langford has chosen to bring his unique blend of strategic insight and academic rigor to this position.


His appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the sector, marked by significant disruption from technological advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, and quantum computing. There is an increasing focus on supply chain resilience, capacity enhancement, and workforce optimisation to build national resilience and unlocking Australia’s technological advantage.


In accepting this position Langford expressed his enthusiasm for guiding UBH Group as it continues to unlock latent and emerging capabilities of strategic importance across the information domain.
